Quality action continues at Chepstow on Sunday afternoon, as day three of the DragonBet Welsh Racing Festival provides more top notch jumping action over the sticks. Our tipster Steve Chambers previews all the action and picks out his best bets across the card…

3.17 Chepstow – DragonBet Welsh Champion Hurdle
Only out of the first three once in his eight career starts, CELTIC DINO has been a real model of consistency for Sam Thomas and the six-year-old is certainly still open to more improvement this season and he can duly defy top weight to land victory in the DragonBet Welsh Champion Hurdle at 3.17pm. Last seen finishing a fine third in a hugely competitive Aintree handicap hurdle back in April, Celtic Dino will have to contend with a 5lbs higher mark for this contest, but he looks every bit capable of becoming a mid-to-high 140s-rated horse this season. The likes of Tutti Quanti for Paul Nicholls and Listentoyourheart for Dan Skelton could prove to be notable rivals, but Celtic Dino is the proven class of the field and can bound to glory here.
3.52 Chepstow – DragonBet John Ayres Memorial Handicap Chase
Sophie Leech’s MOUNT TEMPEST heads into this fascinating 2m 3f 89y contest on the back of a confidence-boosting Worcester win, and he eight-year-old can defy a 4lbs rise by the handicapper and claim back-to-back wins. With Unexpected Party heading the weights then those at the bottom of the handicap have a real chance of making the most of a significant weight pull and in Mount Tempest there’s a horse that heads to Chepstow in form for the 3.52pm contest. A former inmate of Dan Skelton’s yard, he seems to have relished the switch to the Leech yard and with Sean Bowen in the saddle then he could well make the most of a featherweight and claim victory for the champion jockey.
4.27 Chepstow – dragonbet.co.uk Born From The Betting Ring Seniors’ Handicap Hurdle
A winner of this race 12 months ago, WASHINGTON has a real task on his hands to retain his crown at 4.27pm, but a return to Chepstow could galvanise the Harry Derham-trained raider and he can duly secure a second win in the 2m 11y contest. Victorious off a mark of 118 in this race in 2024, he will have to contend with a 10lbs higher mark in this year’s contest, but he has shown he certainly performs better at the start of the season (2 wins in Oct & Dec last year), so could be worth chancing here. He struggled off his highest career mark at the end of last season, but having been given a break he could be firing on all cylinders in this contest, and is the tentative selection.
