Andrew Mount has tips at four tracks on Saturday, with his best bets spanning the country’s racecourses. He has selections at each of Chepstow, Sandown, Wetherby & Wolverhampton.
Saturday’s racing looks set to be thrilling and informative, with Sandown hosting the Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase.
Wetherby Racing Tips (Saturday 6 December 2025)
Wetherby host a six-race card on Saturday, with the opening novice hurdle and class 3 handicap hurdle the standout contests, the latter providing the platform for Andrew’s opening top tip.
12.17 Wetherby – Kilbarry Hill (1pt win – 7/2 bet365)
Kilbarry Hill’s patient running style put him at a big disadvantage on his chase debut at Carlisle last time where he finished a 19-length 9-1 fifth of 12 to The Jukebox Kid. That run, his first for 191 days, would have been needed and the 2m5f trip was on the short side. Olly Murphy’s seven-year-old still clocked a good speed figure for that effort and looks very interesting now that he steps back up in trip. He won second time out last term (2m7.5f, soft) and I’d have him ahead of current favourite Geryville if I were setting the prices.
Chepstow Racing Tips (Saturday 6 December 2025)
Among the races at Chepstow’s seven-race meeting is the Welsh Grand National Trial, featuring Andrew’s second best bet of the day.
1.36 Chepstow – Makin’yourmindup (1pt win – 7/1 generally)
Makin’yourmindup tends to jump out to his left and he usually struggles on right-handed tracks, recording form figures in that direction of 22442 (0-5), with the defeats at 16-1, 10-11f, 13-8f, 100-30f and 6-4. However, it’s a very different story on left-handed tracks on which his record reads 111112 (5-6), with the defeat by a head. The eight-year-old has been off the track for 615 days but is worth a bet to resume his progression in the Welsh Grand Nation Trial before a crack at the main event later this month.
Sandown Racing Tips (Saturday 6 December 2025)
Two Grade 1s headline Sandown’s card as the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase and Tingle Creek take place on a jam-packed afternoon.
2.25 Sandown – Knickerbockerglory (1pt win – 15/8 Betfred, BetVictor) & Honky Tonk Highway (0.5pt e/w 16-1 generally)
Dan Skelton’s Knickerbockerglory won this 2m handicap hurdle on his reappearance last year and also won at the first time of asking in the 2023/24 and 2022/23 seasons. The nine-year-old will handle the heavy conditions better than most and holds obvious claims.
Honky Tonk Highway, a stablemate of Knickerbockerglory, pulled up on her comeback at Bangor last month but she has yet to win on a left-handed track, recording form figures of 022P (0-4). The six-year-old has only run right-handed on two occasions – both at today’s venue – winning a Listed mares’ bumper and a 2m novices’ hurdle from Hartington.
Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Saturday 6 December 2025)
Wolverhampton’s evening card concludes the day’s racing, with nine contests on the all-weather to look forward to.
8.30 Wolverhampton – Back Tomorrow (0.5pt e/w – 20/1 bet365)
Back Tomorrow wouldn’t look an obvious bet having finished 11th of 14 when a 50-1 chance at Newcastle last time but the return to Wolverhampton could spark a revival. Ewan Whillans’ five-year-old has form figures here of 24111633 (3-8) and her trainer does well in sprints at this venue, scoring with six of his 24 such runners for a profit of £37.75 top a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 2.40, A/E = 2.50). She’s well drawn in stall 2 and the first-time blinkers could eke out some improvement.
