Cork, Huntingdon & Kelso Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Sunday 7 December 2025

Cork, Huntingdon & Kelso Racing Tips — GG Lucky 15 Tips for Sunday 7 December 2025

Sunday’s racing takes place from Cork, Huntingdon & Kelso, with the three tracks all boasting significant strength in depth over jumps.

Below, Joe Napier selects four runners for today’s GG Lucky 15 based on form, ground and the strength of each race, with selections coming from each of the three British & Irish venues racing on Sunday.

Cork Racing Tips (Sunday 7 December)

Cork’s card on Sunday features three Graded races, with two of our Lucky 15 best bets coming from those contests.

1.40 Cork – Kala Conti (1pt win – 9/2)

The return of Willie Mullins’ Kargese will make the headlines, but the County Hurdle winner is making her chasing debut against some useful rivals, while she needed her first run of last season when beaten at 2/5 at Ascot. One mare with experience over fences already is Kala Conti, who beat Kargese in a juvenile Grade 2 in 2023 and who seems to be at her best prior to the turn of the year. Her form figures in November and December read 1211221 compared to 570 from January onwards, with the former category completed by a 9 1/2-length romp on her chase debut over 2m5f at this track two weeks ago. She beat Kargese’s stablemate, and ownermate, Jade De Grugy by 15 lengths that day, impressing with her jumping in the main, while she should have few issues dropping back in trip. Gordon Elliott’s mare was not too far off the best mares hurdlers last season and can certainly serve it up to the favourite.

13:40 Coolmore N.H. Sires Order Of St George Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2)

2.15 Cork – Kalypso’chance (1pt win – 5/2)

A talented bumper horse who got his act together on his second start over hurdles, Kalypso’chance looks ready for 3m already. Another for Gordon Elliott, the five-year-old won his first two bumpers, one at Listed level, last season, having been an impressive 13-length winner of a point-to-point in April 2024. He was outpaced in Grade 1 bumpers to conclude last term and was then beaten at 1/5 on his hurdles bow at Down Royal. However, upped immediately to Grade 3 company, itself a sign of confidence that he could leave that form behind, he battled to win over 2m4f at Navan in mid-November. He did that nicely and the son of Masked Marvel can improve further for an even greater emphasis on stamina, with soft ground also a benefit. Even under a penalty ensuring he concedes weight all-round, he looks the one to beat.

14:15 Joe Buckley Construction Stayers Novice Hurdle (Grade 3)

Kelso Racing Tips (Sunday 7 December)

Kelso hosts a seven-race card on Sunday, with some high quality handicaps featuring Cheltenham Festival winners.

2.37 Kelso – Traprain Law (1pt win – 6/1)

A few in this field may have their intentions set on higher targets, whereas this is a good opportunity in a decent line-up, and at a track he likes, for Traprain Law to show what he can do. The seven-year-old grey won here in his novice chasing season and ran well on a couple of occasions last season despite being afraction high in the weights, notably finishing third at Musselburgh and a competitive enough seventh in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham off marks of 137 and 136 respectively. After a runnner-up effort over course and distance on his return, he was fourth to an impressive winner at Cheltenham when 2lb out the weights, but ran well that day and is now 4lb lower, down to a mark of 130. That is just 2lb above his last winning rating as the handicapper appears finally to have relented and he can come good for Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore.

14:37 Richard Landale Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Huntingdon Racing Tips (Sunday 7 December)

At Huntingdon on Sunday, King George contender Djelo runs in defence of his Peterborough Chase title, though our selection runs against him in that race.

3.00 Huntingdon – Saint Sam (1pt win – 10/3)

This is a first run on British shores since March 2023 for Saint Sam, but there are likely two main reasons for that: the first is that his form suggests a preference for right-handed tracks, with most of the big festivals Willie Mullins targets being left-handed in Britain, while the second is a potential preference for a sounder surface. However, the eight-year-old has won on soft and heavy before, so the weather forecast should not hinder him too much and his previous run, when beaten less than a length by Found A Fifty over 2m4f at Fairyhouse, is good form. Favourite Djelo will be gearing up for the King George, but might be a bit more vulnerable over this shorter distance, while Saint Sam definitely goes well fresh. He can land a blow for Mullins and a decent pot for the trainers’ championship.
