That was a clear career-best on the speed figures, and his form prior to that when chasing home West To The Bridge – a twice subsequent winner – at Carlisle off 1lb higher, makes him look well treated on this drop into calmer waters. The drying ground will be in his favour, and this more conventional track should see him in a better light. There is a good pace on in here which will play to his stamina strengths, and he has been underestimated by the market with a first-time tongue-tie likely to bring out further improvement.
