3.05 Redcar – Dubai Souq (1pt win – 11/4 generally)
DUBAI SOUQ makes plenty of appeal attempting to win this race for the second year, and I have always considered this a soft ground horse, and his form figures of 1 and 1 would confirm that. He made all in this contest last year in what was arguably a deeper race, and he arrives here having had a mid-season break, likely with the softer ground in mind. Saeed bin Suroor has an excellent 21% strike rate here, and Daniel Tudhope is a positive booking and this Godolphin runner is still relatively unexposed on turf.
3.15 Warwick – Favori De Sivola (5/1 generally)
Fairlawn Flyer ended the season on a high note but is in a stronger race today and has a bit to prove away from Ffos Las on quicker ground than ideal. Guetapan Collonges jumps out to the right, and he won’t get away with that at this venue. I am happy to take him on with FAVORI DE SIVOLA, who has a good record fresh with form figures of 1115 over fences and has ideal ground conditions, and this might be the time to catch him after his form tailed off towards the end of last term. Reilly could post the biggest threat if his stamina stretches out this far on his seasonal/chase debut, but the selection has plenty in his favour, and he should be making his presence felt.
