3.30 Taunton – SILENT REVOLUTION (1.5pt win – 6/1 generally)

Many of these have questions to answer, although I felt we were unlucky with Amelia’s Dance 14 days ago when she stormed home from the rear of the field. Her rider failed to make enough use of her, but her regular rider Bryan Carver takes back over in the saddle, so a better showing is probably on the horizon. The bad news is that she is effectively seven pounds higher in the handicap and has never raced in a grade higher than Class 3, and her form figures outside Class 4 company are not that inspiring. She is priced correctly, but the one that could spring a surprise is the Paul Nicholls-trained SILENT REVOLUTION, who caught the eye on his return at Newbury in ground he would have hated and is fairly handicapped on the balance of his form outside of his Supreme Novice Hurdle run.

He is less exposed than many of these and had Boombawn well behind at Newbury in a Novice Hurdle in 2021. Paul Nicholls has won this race two of the last three years, and it would be disappointing if there wasn’t more to come now back on a sounder surface and into what is effectively a 0-130 in which four of his six rivals are mares.
