3.00 Lingfield – Enzo D’Airy (1pt win – 11/2 Bet365, 5/1 generally)

The time that ENZO DAIRY did at Chepstow on his first start after a long absence confirms that he is a useful horse, and it was no surprise to see him bounce on that effort next time at the same venue as he did the same in 2020. He ran back to form on his third start to beat none other than Editeur Du Gite at Ascot.t. This is not a strong race and the drop back in grade will help along with being reunited with Shane Quinlan. He is worth chancing in a poor race to confirm the promise of his penultimate start.

6.00 Southwell – Shouldvebeenaring (1pt win – 11/4 generally)

Glorious Angel is likely to try and make the running here, but SHOULDVEBEENARING finished ahead of today’s favourite Alpha Capture when last seen despite not running up to his best. The Haggas runner tends to need a strong run of six furlongs, having done his best work late last season, and he is unlikely to get that today. The selection has more natural speed, and it would be no surprise to see him get the first run on the favourite.

6.30 Southwell – Sun Power (1pt win – 12/1 Betfair/Paddy Power, 11/1 generally)

It might be worth taking a chance on SUN POWER, who shaped with plenty of promise on his long-awaited return for this new yard. He had been globe-trotting before that in Dubai and did far too much too soon here on January 6th. Still, he showed plenty of dash over seven furlongs before shaping as though he needed the run (off 313 days), and the drop back in distance looks like a wise move. His 6f record on the AW reads 237151, and this is effectively a 0-85, which is no more of a jump in class than his latest race. There is no other confirmed front-runner in this field, and he may be worth a flyer.
