Whenthedealingisdone worryingly bled in the Stewards Cup over six furlongs, and this quick turnaround of ten days will be a first for him. He has had excuses this season, and should he bounce back to last term’s best efforts over five furlongs, he will be a danger to all.
He rates a risky proposition, but an intriguing one dropped into calmer waters for the first time this season. He had Burning Cash behind at Ascot when denied a clear run and that form just about sets the standard, and this small field scenario could work out well for him.
He is a talented horse on his day, and a chance is taken on the outsider of the field.
6.50 Carlisle – Sacred Jewel (1pt win – 12/1 Sky Bet, 888sport, BetVictor)
SACRED JEWEL was picked up from Godolphin by Julie Camacho and made a promising start to life with this trainer in a first-time hood when scooting up with any amount in hand at Leicester. The form of that race needs improving on to land this, but her two-year-old debut, when touched off by Zain Claudette three lengths over six furlongs when fading inside the final furlong, looks a useful bit of form.
She is completely unexposed, and her effort last time at Musselburgh was too bad to be true. She is worth another chance on just her second start in handicaps, and this is Paul Hanagan’s sole ride of the day.
