12.50 Lingfield – Justcallmepete (1pt win – 10/3 William Hill offer, 3/1 generally)
JUSTCALLMEPETE hit the line very hard over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton last time in a race with a bit of depth to the form for the level. The drop back in trip on that evidence may prove his undoing, but he is bred to be a useful sprinter and his form earlier this year on turf suggests this is the distance that will see him improve. He looked as though he was ready to bounce back to his early season form after a few runs in the doldrums on his latest outing, and the switch of headgear could be enough to see him get his head back in front for the first time since March. He chased home the very useful Sterling Knight on a couple of occasions this term, including when he was a strong favourite at Ascot in April. The jockey switch is another positive, and there are lots to like.
A good mention is given to Wake Up Harry who returns to the scene of his last victory, but the drop to six furlongs looks a strange one and likely because he has failed to settle on multiple occasions but is one worth keeping on the radar in the short term.

Tue 13 Dec 20222.55 Lingfield – Pistoletto (1pt win – 3/1 generally)
I gave PISTOLETTO a good write-up when running at Kempton 14 days ago, and he was well supported from 12/1 into an 11/2 SP. The reason for backing him then was the return to the AW, which has seen four of his six wins, but he was slowly away in the fog, according to the jockey, and it was a steady run affair for which he had little chance having been held up at Kempton in hindsight. Today he returns to Lingfield, where two of his four AW victories have come, and he is having only his third outing in a Class 4 event and other than his latest effort he scored back in 2021 at Chelmsford over today’s distance. He sneaks into this 0-80 off top weight, and his form figures here read 401514 but outside of his Group 3 fifth to Alenquer, he has been beaten three lengths when denied a clear run and no more than a length on his other three starts.
3.30 Kempton – Revolutionary Man (0.5pt E/W – 11/1 generally)
(28/1 was available for a short time when published, however odds went too fast so for fairness 11/1 is the the recorded price)
REVOLUTIONARY MAN was a big eye-catcher here over six furlongs behind a progressive four-year-old when outrunning his huge odds of 80/1, and that now takes his form figures to 22221241122 on the AW when racing in Class 5 or lower. His Kempton record reads 2221 without the headgear in the same race class in the last two years. If you were to back this horse in the winter months (Nov – Jan), his form figures would read 241122 in the last two years. He is an interesting horse that has been sporadically placed over a variety of distances. Still, his record at seven furlongs – like today’s – in the last couple of years reads 21241271, resulting in three wins and three seconds from eight attempts. Today he has optimum conditions (7f and Kempton), which have seen him finish second to one with an unbeaten record at the track on his penultimate outing and the other a win here in 2020. His form ties in with the top of this market, and he doesn’t have much to find.
