CELEBRE D’ALLEN makes plenty of appeal now stepping into Veterans’ company given the progression he showed last year, and this horse will prove a rarity in this division, having only had four races in Britain. There’s plenty more to come from him on the evidence of his excellent fifth in the Festival Plate at Cheltenham, and the step up in trip looks like an obvious source of improvement. He has proven to go well fresh, and there are stacks of pace on today that should set it up for a finisher (despite this track not usually playing to hold up horses’ strengths). He faces mainly exposed rivals, and we haven’t seen the best of him yet.
