Our top tipster Daryl Carter has four bets for Wednesday’s racing, with his selections coming from Ludlow, Perth and Lingfield. Check them out below, alongside Bet365‘s new customer offer of Bet £10, Get £50 In Free Bets.
1.00 Ludlow – Just The Man (2pt wins – 2/1)
JUST THE MAN looks to have found a very good opportunity here, and with the market likely to be in favour of Sayadam, who, in my opinion, lacks pace and has an inflated handicap mark. Kim Bailey’s runner has also been off the track for 129 days for a wind operation and drops back to a sharp 2m despite improving for 2 1/2.
In turn, the selection returns to the scene of his success last month when making it two for three at this venue and partners back with Keven Brogan, who claims three pounds to ease the burden of top weight. He was flying too high at Aintree, so that run 12 days ago can easily be forgiven and the return to a right-handed track for which his form figures in the last two years read 1231233 is another positive. This is the most straightforward task he has had for some time and looks good value over a favourite that has enough to prove.

3.15 Ludlow – Little Jessture (0.5pt each-way 18/1)
A chance is taken with LITTLE JESSTURE on handicap debut on return from a 188 daybreak. She has had a wind operation and gets the first time hood and tongue-tie combination for this reappearance.
She has been handed a lowly mark of 73 for Ben Clarke, and Ben Jones has been booked (17%, seven winners this season), and she has given the impression that she has a win in her once handicapping. She was a bumper winner on debut over Beholden, a horse she was subsequently beaten 47 lengths by on her latest outing at Wincanton.
That result is not a true reflection of her running there because she showed up well for a long way in a race that recorded a good time figure for the grade. She jumps very well for one at this level, so if her wind has been sorted, that could be the answer to the reason why she has dropped away (albeit under tender handling) in three runs over hurdles for this yard. It would be no surprise would we see an improved performance today at a track that should suit, so she is worth taking a chance with at big odds in a race where few make any appeal.

15:35 Perth – The Goffer (1pt win – 4/1)
THE GOFFER don’t come off the best at the weights here for this Listed contest, but on the evidence of his staying on fourth at Thurles behind Gerri Colombe three starts ago, he is a potential improver for this 3m trip (by Yates, plenty do).
He was down the field in the Martin Pipe at the festival, but he was badly hampered in the midsection of the race, so it was to his credit he ran as well as he did to a point. His form with Highland Charge in December and his win at Thurles in February is solid form (around 135-140) in the context of this race. Famous Bridge stopped quickly after the line at Kelso over 2m5f, suggesting he was all out and that was in a handicap off a mark of 118 and on pedigree, he is not guaranteed to get this new trip.
I thought Mahler Mission’s stamina was exposed in the Albert Bartlett after seemingly staying the trip in a steadily run affair in the River Don. Although closely matched, Complete Unknown and Galia Des Litaux need plenty more here. Those towards the top of the weights usually come to the fore here, and I am not sold on Mahler Mission’s official rating, which he got after winning the poor Grade 2 River Don. The 3m British form this season is not up to scratch other than Hillcrest, who didn’t run his race at Cheltenham, so I want to be with the Irish raider here.

19:30 Lingfield – Twilight Heir (1pt win – 10/1)
TWILIGHT HEIR’S form figures don’t make for pretty reading and he does need to be forgiven for a well below par run at Doncaster when last seen, but he shaped with a good deal of promise at Kempton behind Lockdown when having the door shut on him when travelling strongly on the bridle.
There’s a chance that his latest run on turf may have come too soon, but prior to his Kempton eye-catching effort, he wasn’t beaten far here in a good class 3 event after being slowly away (one or two of these in there also) losing all chance at the gates. He now finds himself back at this Lingfield venue – for which he scored in February last year and five pounds lower than that run partnered by Cieren Fallon for the first time since.
In the hope that Fallon makes use of him from the gate and rides him prominently (little pace on here) he should be in pole position for a strong finishing effort. This is a first drop into a Class 5 event also. He also takes a drop in trip from 7f the last twice down to 6f, and the combination of those aspects could see a return to form in a race the favourite, although impressive at Windsor, is 0-17 on the AW. He is worth chancing for a win only stake.
