6.30 Wolverhampton – Divine Connection (1.5pt win @SP)
It’s worth keeping faith with DIVINE CONNECTION, who looks like a winner in waiting for Craig Lidster. She was unable to complete our full house five days ago, but she finished out her race strongly despite being wider than ideal around the home bend. The winner was a course and distance specialist who controlled the race from the front, but they pulled well clear of the remainder. She is thriving now and returns to the scene of her last victory in 2021. She has a good course-and-distance record with form figures of 2284431641, and her latest effort was an almost career-best RPR. She should finally get her head back in front, but she is around 2/1 at the opening show, and it would probably be wise to wait until tomorrow. I’ll have to suffer and hope her SP is bigger than her current odds.

7.30 Wolverhampton – Intervention (1pt win – 7/2 generally
Ballyare was an eye-catcher at Newcastle last time, but I firmly expect Fredrick Larson to make use of INTERVENTION from stall one, and he was unfortunate to get badly snatched up here 11 days ago into the first bend. To his credit, he got to within two lengths of our winner that day (Pocket The Profit) and stayed on strongly. He has built up a good record on the AW, and his latest performance is good form for the level. He could just get the jump on his main market rival.

8.00 Wolverhampton – Spanish Angel (1pt win – 15/4 generally)
SPANISH ANGEL has been knocking on the door in recent days and today looks like a good opportunity to get back to winning ways. A course record of 2214 means he should always be of interest at this venue, and although his strike rate is off-putting, he arrives in excellent heart. He was narrowly denied here eight days ago and is worth keeping the faith. Back him no shorter than 11/4.
