It’s worth taking a chance with KHABIB, who looked highly progressive this season over five furlongs before stepping back up to six last time when a clear non-stayer having been denied a clear passage. His record over six furlongs now reads 838674023, and his best efforts have come over the minimum trip. He has solid claims in this contest on the bare form of his excellent second to Alligator Alley at Southwell. The time of that contest was good, and outside of a break, his record here over five furlongs reads 12194, and he came good this time last year and took his form right through to the end of spring.
He has left the impression there is more to come off of this rating and 2 lbs lower the last twice, and his RPRs of 92 and 90 would also concur. He has a good draw in stall eight with Badri in seven likely to be held on to, and he should be able to track the pace of The Bell Conductor and Emperor Spirit easily enough and have the golden highway on the standside rail when push comes to shove. He offers plenty of value at double-figure odds for a small each-way bet on a day where value is hard to find.
