EROS is a 15-race maiden, but today could finally be his day with this race lacking significant depth and by far the easiest assignment he has been set. Starvoski looks like the biggest danger, but she was happier over the smaller obstacles last term, and this sharp right-handed track may not suit. In turn, the selection put in a good seasonal return at this venue, and there is substance to that third. He is entitled to improve for that outing, and it only looks like a matter of time before he breaks his duck.
2.10 Wetherby – Readysteadybeau (2pt win – 11/4 generally)
READYSTEADYBEAU made a promising seasonal return on chase debut at Ayr behind a useful rival, and he was worth an upgrade, having come from an unpromising position in a steady run affair. He is entitled to improve for fitness and experience on that outing, and the deeper ground, along with the step up in trip, while this also represents a drop in grade. He looks set for a successful novice chase season, and his good jumping under pressure could prove to be the difference in this field.
