GOLDEN MAYFLOWER frustrated this column last time when finishing all too late to be beaten 3/4 of a length over a subsequent winner in Lightship. That form ties in closely with Crystal Casque, and that was the second time this horse has suggested she is ahead of the handicapper. This track seemingly suits with two excellent second-place finishes, and whatever the issue was last term seems to have been put well aside, and there’s further improvement to come.
