GIVE IT SOME TEDDY has been better than the bare result on both occasions this term and looks to have gone under the radar in this market. He has some good course form here at Carlisle without getting his head in front, but he lurks on a workable handicap mark.
At York, on seasonal return, he shaped with a good deal of promise from the rear of the field but was given plenty to do, and his effort petered out near the finish when challenging on the wrong side of the track. The other runner to do well from off the pace in that contest was the subsequent scorer Lion Tower. He then went to Doncaster, where he was denied a clear run continuously when trapped on the inside rail and had no chance to get racing and finished on the bridle.
Both of those efforts suggest a return to form is imminent, and he has comfortably beaten a good handful of these when scoring in the Class 3 Thirsk Summer Cup in August last year off of two pounds lower. He makes plenty of appeal at double-figure odds.

3.25 Carlisle – Croeso Cymraeg (1pt win – 14/1 Paddy, betfair, 12/1 Sky Bet)
CROESO CYMRAEG should get a strong pace to aim at here, and connections quickly turn him out after a dominant display at Ripon to score going away, and that should put him spot on for a repeat bid in this race.
He finished second in this contest to a thriving sort who was a subsequent winner and rated 89, but he cantered all over the field when doing best of those from off the pace. He looks primed to go well again off 1lb higher today, and his record in June now reads 1213 and his record on good/ good to firm in Class 4 races or lower reads 128212115.
He should be playing a hand at the finish, providing he gets the breaks.

3.55 Carlisle – Clitheroe (1pt each-way – 15/2 888sport, 7/1 Paddy, betfair, Will Hills)
CLITHEROE forfeited plenty of ground in the early stages of her latest run at Musselburgh when drawn wide in stall 12, but she caught the eye travelling strongly before having the door shut in her face on the inside rail.
She was then denied another run through the mid-pack before finally getting the breaks and staying on strongly in the closing stages behind winner and today’s rival Snooze N You Lose. That’s some useful form, given the winner was narrowly denied by the useful Samburu at York, who, in turn, was subsequently touched off three lengths in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.
She is unexposed at this trip and a sure-fire improver.

4.50 Salisbury – Praiano (1pt win – 4/1 bet365, 10/3 generally)
PRAIANO left the impression there was more to come from him last season, and he returns on a handy mark on the balance of his form. Roger Varian knows how to ready one first time up, so the absence is of little concern.
He disappointed on soft ground on his final start at York in October, but the return to a faster surface is a positive, and he is unexposed at this trip which is undoubtedly his optimum. He gets the vote to continue on his upward curve.
