Epsom Racing Tips (Monday 31 August 2026)
The Derby course hosts seven races on Monday, with Andrew’s selection running in an amateur riders’ handicap.
3.35 Epsom – Divine Knight (1pt win – 11/4 bet365, 5/2 general)
Henry Callan is head and shoulders above his contemporaries in the amateur jockey field, and he was seen to good effect on our selection Diamond Bay at Lingfield on August 18th and on Beach Point at Goodwood last Friday. His career score now stands at 20 winners from 56 rides (35.7%) for a profit of £27.92 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£46.17 at Betfair SP after 2% commission, expected wins = 10.20, A/E = 1.96). Since August 1st last year his record is 20 from 44 (45.5%) for a profit of £39.92 at SP. Divine Knight, who looks well drawn in stall 9 of 14 for the amateur riders’ Derby at Epsom today has proved expensive to follow in his four starts since joining William Haggas (beaten at odds of 7-2, 9-4, 7-4 and 5-4) but the Callan factor can bring about a change of fortune.
Chepstow Racing Tips (Monday 31 August 2026)
Across Chepstow’s eight races on Monday, Andrew has a tip in the midst of the card in race five.
4.00 Chepstow – Lady V (1p win – 5/1 general)
Lady V has shown distinct promise in her three starts to date and was especially eyecatching when a 66-1 sixth of ten at Windsor last time. Charlie Pike’s three-year-old broke smartly before being restrained in mid-division, travelled kindly but was never asked to get competitive by Kieran O’Neill who didn’t use his whip. Her trainer’s handicap debutants are profitable to back blind (albeit from a small sample) and the jockey upgrade to Rossa Ryan is a signal of intent in this 0-55 Class 6 contest. Stall 2 could be an issue if we’re in stands’ side ‘golden highway’ territory at Chepstow today, but I still want an interest.
Downpatrick Racing Tips (Monday 31 August 2026)
There is jumps action in Ireland this bank holiday at Downpatrick. Andrew’s tip takes in the penultimate race.
5.04 Downpatrick – Full Noise (1pt win – 5/1 Sky Bet, Paddy Power William Hill)
We had a winner last week in the shape of Knocknagoran Lady, who had caught the eye at Roscommon’s meeting on August 4th where she raced in the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail when it was a huge advantage to challenge wide on the better ground. That meeting has now produced five next time out winners and today it is the turn of Full Noise who was subject of strong market support on his debut for Gary McGill before his 9-2 third in the 2m5.5f handicap chase. He took the inside route and left the impression that he would have gone close had he raced wide. The veteran was beaten by seven and a half lengths, but the seven-length runner-up went one better at the next time of asking and he’s worth another chance. I’ve saved on King’s Son, who also went round the inside in that Roscommon race, and will combine him with the selection in a reversed forecast.
