Fairyhouse Racing Tips (Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 November 2025)

11:36 Fairyhouse (Saturday) – SIS Supporting Irish Racing Beginners Chase (4yo+) – Jacob’s Ladder 8/1 1pt EW 3 places

Gordon Elliott and/or Gigginstown in general have always had one show up strongly in this Beginners Chase and they combine here with Jacob’s Ladder, who fared well on chase debut behind the race-fit Irish Panther at Naas with the winner coming off the back of a convincing success over hurdles.

That came over a potentially inadequate two miles, as he notched up a double over 2m4f last season having been convincingly beaten over two miles twice prior. He dourly fended off Forty Coats at Naas who ran a blinder to be beaten fifteen lengths in the Baring Bingham now rated 142. Jacob’s Ladder then stepped into Grade 3 company and again came from rear to comfortably dispatch of Joystick, who’d previously beaten a Grade 1 winner in Honesty Policy earlier in the season.

A former point to point winner by Mount Nelson out of a Milan mare, this looks a good next step for Jacob’s Ladder who’ll likely improve for staying chases and he can put his race fitness to good use ahead of the short priced Jimmy Du Seuil and The Big Westerner.

11:36 SIS Supporting Irish Racing Beginners Chase

1:53 Fairyhouse (Saturday) – Close Brothers Rated Novice Hurdle (4yo+) – L’Evangeliste 15/8 2pt WIN

Pastorius gelding L’Evangeliste has progressed nicely throughout his career until now and this looks a logical next step to continue his upward curve. He was sent off the 13/8 favourite on point debut before falling late on, but he rectified that next time out with a two length success at Quakerstown. He failed to justify support on bumper debut when an eleven length third, but onece again he bettered that effort when a winner at Limerick (albeit in the stewards room), with the winner going in on hurdles debut since for Henry De Bromhead and the third is now rated 129 having won three times over hurdles and placed in listed company.

His hurdles debut saw him finish a two length second at Listowel to 8/13 favourite and Champion Bumper second Heads Up, who backed that effort up with a three length second to the well regarded No Drama This End in the G2 Hyde Novices next time out. L’Evangeliste came on from that to land a Galway Maiden Hurdle by eight lengths, kicking impressively clear on the bend and winning in a convincing manner.

The Heads Up form is arguably the strongest on offer here and if building on is latest win, then he looks to have a strong chance for a yard among the winners.

13:53 Close Brothers Rated Novice Hurdle

1:35 Fairyhouse (Sunday) – Bar 1 Betting Royal Bond Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) (4yo+) – Gameball 7/1 1pt EW 3 places

The unbeaten Love Me Tender will prove popular for punters coming here on the back of a group three success at Tipperary, but Henry De Bromhead’s Gameball looked potentially above average himself when landing a Punchestown Maiden Hurdle in October that’s thrown up the likes of Labaik, Samcro and Marine Nationale in past. The latter went on to win the Royal Bond which bodes well for Gameball, despite the yard not firing all that many bullets in the race in recent years.

The son of Yeats was a well backed winner on bumper debut for Andrew Slattery in July and subsequently switched hands to Basil Holian and Henry De Bromhead. He travelled strongly in behind the leaders on hurdles debut at Punchestown last time out and despite getting the last wrong, it was impressive to see him draw away sharply. The six length second was well behind Blake next time out, but the ten length third has franked the form nicely at Clonmel since beating the 129 rated I Am Lorenzo by five lengths.

Gameball’s jumping wasn’t particularly all that good at Punchestown, but if the yard have improved him in that department since then it’ll be no surprise to see him serve it up to the short priced Mullins trained favourite.

2:05 Fairyhouse (Sunday) – BAR 1 Betting Drinmore Novice Chase (Grade 1) (4yo+) – Ol Man Dingle 11/2 1pt WIN

I don’t think we learnt all that much about Romeo Coolio on his chasing debut with four of the nine faces omitted and his only credible rival jumping poorly throughout, so it may pay to take him on with the progressive Ol Man Dingle, who is two from two over fences.

He won a Galway Beginners Chase in October under a confident Ricky Doyle, who was happy to let Will The Wise take him on for the lead before collaring him late on up the run in. That one back that form up with a win at Galway next time out, and Ol Man Dingle improved again to take a Grade 3 Novice Chase at Cork. He once more travelled comfortably and jumped well throughout, staying on strongly to pick off the Mullins-trained You Oughta Know. He had the 5/4 favourite Mossy Fen Park well beaten there who’d previously shown some strong form, and should he continue his upward curve then he’ll rate the chief threat to Romeo Coolio.
