Racing on Sunday comes from Fakenham, Thurles and Windsor, with the latter of those three venues hosting the final Berkshire Winter Million card, full of star names and competitive racing.
It is on that card and at Fakenham in which Andrew picks out his two best bets across the day to end the week on a high.
Fakenham Racing Tips (Sunday 18 January 2026)
Fakenham hosts two races set to be live on ITV on Sunday. Among the rest of their card is a class 5 handicap in which Andrew’s tip at the track runs.
3.10 Fakenham – Little Wren (1pt win – 3/1 generally)
Dan Skelton’s Little Wren is a six-race maiden who was beaten by 27 lengths when a 4-1 eighth of 16 in a 3m Class 5 handicap hurdle at Wetherby just after Christmas. However, there are several strong statistical pointers suggesting major improvement not that she goes chasing in first-time cheekpieces. Her trainer does well with this headgear on chasers who finished fifth or worse last time out, scoring with 12 of the 47 qualifiers for a profit of £52.75 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£62.53 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). Etalon (18-1) and Major Fortune (7-2) have been recent winners on this angle. Skelton also does well with chase debutants who go straight into handicap company, scoring with 51 of the 251 qualifiers (20.3% strike-rate) for a profit of £13.85 at SP (+£51.64 at BSP). The six-year-old daughter of Walk In The Park is bred to improve for the switch to fences and is worth chancing at a track where his yard has a 34% strike-rate with chasers (16 winners from 47 bets, +£9.86 to a £1 level stake at SP).
Windsor Racing Tips (Sunday 18 January 2026)
Windsor’s final Winter Million card looks a tremendously competitive one and Andrew likes the look of a stayer back up in trip, who won the same race last year at this meeting.
3.35 Windsor – Planned Paradise (2pt win – 7/2 generally)
Planned Paradise very much caught the eye when plodding on into a nine-length third behind Followcato and Pepe Le Moko in a 2m4f handicap chase at Ludlow last month, pulling ten lengths clear of the fourth. That form has been franked, with the winner following up at Exeter (17-2) and Pepe Le Moko doing best of those to chase the lunatic early gallop when third at Hereford earlier this week. The Christian Williams-trained ten-year-old was somehow dropped 2lb for that performance and is 7lb lower than when landing this race 12 months ago. Jack Tudor takes over from a 7lb conditional rider and he’s a major player now back over a marathon trip.
