Ffos Las Racing Tips (Tuesday 4 August 2026)
Seven races make up Ffos Las’ card on Tuesday, with the action kicking off at 2.30pm. Andrew has an eye-catching 1.5pt win pick in the 3.30pm contest.
3.30 Ffos Las – Cypriot Diaspora (1.5pt win – 5/2 generally)
Cypriot Diaspora clocked a fast time when a 9/1 third over C&D at the end of June and, though beaten by almost four lengths, that performance was worthy of a serious upgrade as she did best of those to race on the front end. Rod Millman’s five-year-old was described by the racing Post as “prominent, disputed lead 3f out, led clearly over 2f out, headed and no extra inside final furlong” whereas the winner (“slowly into stride, in rear”), runner-up (“midfield”), fourth (“in rear”) and fifth (“towards rear”) all came from further back. The winner hasn’t run again since but the runner-up, Dappled light, went close at Chepstow, and the fourth – Kaleidoscope Eyes – was narrowly beaten into third when 14/1 in another C&D handicap. Her last two wins have come over C&D in August and, while rain would have been welcome, her full record here reads 2113 (2-4), with the other defeat at 25/1 and she’s worth a bet.
Lingfield Racing Tips (Tuesday 4 August 2026)
It’s a 5.18pm start at Lingfield for their evening fixture. The first race on the card is where Andrew focuses his attentions and he has a big-priced each-way selection.
5.18 Lingfield – Sahana (0.5pt e/w – 22/1 generally, though Sky Bet’s 20/1 is the best option as they are paying four places)
Sahana trailed home a 15/2 last of five in a 6f handicap at Yarmouth on her latest assignment and when the stewards enquired into the poor effort the trainer’s representative “could offer no explanation for the poor form”. I assume the trainer’s rep was a random racegoer pulled from the bar at short notice as she clearly didn’t enjoy dropping to a sprint trip for the first time in her career. David Simcock’s four-year-old had won over 1m at the same venue last summer and her other success came over this evening’s course and distance. She’s going to be ridden patiently again – Simcock’s always are, which is why he has underachieved as a trainer – but they often go off too hard in apprentice handicaps and that’s the hope here (it’s a hope rather than expectation as the pace map suggests this could be steadily run). Her two runs at this 7f trip on Polytrack have produced that C&D win and a half-length runner-up effort at Kempton in May of this year and, at the price, she’s worth chancing to small each-way stakes, especially given her yard’s record in apprentice handicaps on the all-weather of 19 wins from 107 runners (17.8%) for a profit of £35.13 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£91.60 at Betfair SP after 2% commission, expected wins = 14.16, A/E = 1.34).
