The latest Friday Night Live meeting is set for Friday at Wolverhampton. This latest edition follows on from the bombastic night at Southwell which saw Constitution Hill make his flat debut.
Nicky Henderson’s superstar is not present this time around. However, nine races will still be fiercely contested and GG tipster Joe Napier picks out four best bets across the card.

Wolverhampton’s Friday Night Live card provides nine hugely competitive races for the masses. Our four selections run throughout the card, including one tip in the lucky last.
5.30 Wolverhampton – Chicago Storm (1pt e/w – 10/1)
He will have to overcome the widest draw, but there will be plenty of time in running to settle Chicago Storm. The seven-year-old has struggled over jumps for Daisy Hitchins of late. However, returned to the flat on the all-weather, he ran respectably here over 1m6f before staying on strongest tow in over 1m3f at Southwell. This distance in the middle of those two should be no issue in terms of his stamina. The selection was given a 4lb bump in the handicap for that success, but looked to have something in hand. Millie Wonnacott takes off 5lb again here, and she has made a good start to 2026 herself.
7.00 Wolverhampton – First Principle (2pt win – 3/1)
First Principle ran a race full of promise on his return over course and distance earlier this month. William Haggas’ runner was second having gone off at a fast pace under Cieren Fallon. Despite that, he stayed on really well having been headed nearly a furlong out. That was in a class 2 event, and he drops down a level here. Tom Marquand takes over in the saddle, and if settling better, he looks to remain well-handicapped up just 1lb for his effort last time out. He can be confidently expected to be involved.
8.00 Wolverhampton – An Outlaw’s Grace (0.5pt e/w – 22/1)
A chance is taken on an outsider here in An Outlaw’s Grace. He was a winner on debut as a juvenile in 2024, though has not hit the front since. There have been some decent efforts from him in the meantime though, including when third at Newmarket last summer. That was on one of just two runs he was able to manage as a three-year-old. His return from 251 days off after that saw him finish last of seven at Lingfield last month. However, that was in useful company and he was not beaten far. He has plummeted down the weights to a mark of 82, which can be capitalised upon if recapturing any of his early promise.
8.30 Wolverhampton – Arklow Lad (1pt win – 9/2)
Arklow Lad won well on his stable debut three weeks ago and can follow up here. The son of Kuroshio was a commanding winner on his first start for Mick Appleby at Chelmsford. That was over the minimum 5f, but he and Jason Watson were strong through the line that day. He had been a promising horse when trained in Ireland, reaching a mark of 75. After one win in six starts, he made the best possible start for Appleby last time. Even with a 7lb rise to contend with, he looks readily capable of winning again and 6f may even suit better.
