1.32 Haydock – MISSION POSSIBLE (1pt win – 2/1 bet365)
Winless in three starts, MISSION POSSIBLE will make her handicap debut in the opening 1m 6f handicap at Haydock at 1.32pm on Friday afternoon, and the William Haggas-trained filly looks more than capable of landing the spoils. She was a decent third at Ffos Las on her last outing and that came over 1m 4f, and she shaped like the step up will certainly bring on some improvement and an initial mark of 69 looks workable. Apprentice jockey Alexandra Egan will claim a vital 3lbs off her back and she has been in excellent form all season and the pair can bound to a first win together.
4.05 Ascot – FINE INTERVIEW (1pt win – 4/1 generally)
Unable to get his head in front this season, FINE INTERVIEW put in his best effort for a while last time out at Goodwood and that could be down to the return to seven furlongs. Fifth of 20 in a hugely competitive handicap, the Havana Grey gelding will remain over 7f for the 4.05pm at Ascot and if he can build on that effort then he looks capable of defying top weight and landing victory here. Softish conditions should suit and he can get the better of Brave Mission, who looks the biggest danger.
4.20 Haydock – HILLTOP (1pt win – 7/2 bet365)
A winner at Lingfield a month ago, HILLTOP failed to follow up last time out when stepped up to a mile at Leicester, but the Daniel & Claire Kubler-trained top weight can bounce back to winning ways in the 4.20pm at Haydock Park. The New Bay filly will have the burden of top weight in this contest, but she’s only 2lbs higher than her last winning mark, so has to be considered for a trappy betting heat. She will face softer ground here, which is a bit of an unknown, but she has some quality about her and she can duly secure her second win in three recent starts.
