1.35 Lingfield – ADVERTORIAL (1pt win – 7/1 bet365)
Ed Dunlop’s ADVERTORIAL has struggled on her last two outings on the turf, but a return to the all-weather on Wednesday in the opening race at Lingfield at 1.35pm could see her bounce back to form. Fourth of ten on her last outing at Ayr over 1m 2f, the three-year-old will enjoy the step back up to 1m 4f here, and that’s the distance he last tasted victory over. Having been dropped 1lb for his recent run on Scottish soil, the daughter of Advertise is now only 1lb lower than her last winning mark, which came on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. She will need to improve on what she has shown during the summer, but has the potential to land a significant blow in a trappy opener.
4.20 Bath – ORIONIS (1pt win – 9/4 bet365)
Having landed a brace of wins at Ripon and Windsor in June, ORIONIS failed to kick on from those successes and has been beaten at Ascot and Salisbury since. However, a drop back in company to class 4 could see the William Haggas-trained raider bounce back to winning ways and the daughter of Sea The Stars can prove to be a cut above her rivals in the 4.20pm at Bath. She was given a 3lbs rise by the handicapper for a decent second at Salisbury last month, but this looks an inferior contest here and a mark of 82 looks workable, and with Tom Marquand in the saddle she is the selection.
5.45 Hamilton – BILLY NO MATES (1pt e/w – 6/1 bet365)
It’s nearly two years since BILLY NO MATES last got his head in front, but the experienced nine-year-old has been running with huge credit in recent times and could be a potential lively each-way player in the 5.45pm at Hamilton. Winless in 14 outings, the Michael Dods-trained runner is 11lbs lower than his last winning mark, and having bagged a couple of second placed finishes this season, along with a third place last time out then he has to come into calculations. One of those second placed runs came at Hamilton, so a return to Scotland is certainly a positive and he could well make the frame, at the very least, in this event.
