Ayr and Newbury host quality flat racing on Friday afternoon, with the former seeing the Ayr Gold Cup take centre stage, while there’s listed action at Newbury as well on September 19th. Our GG tipster Steve Chambers takes a look at both cards and picks out his Lucky 15 for the day…

2.33 Ayr – PEARL FORTUNE (1pt win – 12/1 bet365)
Karl Burke’s PEARL FORTUNE was sent off a 33/1 shot for the Lowther Stakes at York last time out and found it hard going in Group 2 company, but did put up a creditable performance in seventh. Dropping back to Listed level for the Rosebery Stakes at Ayr at 2.33pm, the Blue Point filly will need to build on that effort, but had previously finished a decent second at Ripon and if she can continue on an upward curve could taste victory here. She holds an entry in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes, so she’s certainly held in high regard and win here could book her place in that Newmarket contest.
3.05 Ayr – STORMY IMPACT (1pt win – 9/1 bet365)
Richard Fahey’s STORMY IMPACT was an impressive winner at Wolverhampton two starts ago, but found life difficult last time out when fifth of 10 in a Listed event at Pontefract. She found herself too far back during that contest at Pontefract, but was staying on eye-catchingly well in the closing stages. It’s a slight worry to see her drop back half-a-furlong here, but if she can be given a more prominent ride here then she can benefit from a quick pace here and claim the prize in the final strides.
3.40 Ayr – WOBWOBWOB (1pt win – 11/1 William Hill)
A former winner of the Ayr Silver Cup, WOBWOBWOB will look to claim more success at the track on Friday when he lines up for the Ayr Bronze Cup at 3.40pm. Last seen finishing second in a competitive Racing League contest at Chepstow, Adrian Keatley’s charge lines up in excellent form and while he may not be the force of old the seven-year-old has to be respected off a mark of 81. That mark is 6lbs lower than when he won the Silver Cup, so he has to be considered a huge player in a hugely competitive event.
4.05 Newbury – REMMOOZ (1pt win – 2/1 William Hill)
Fourth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, REMMOOZ then went on and claimed victory in a York handicap before following that up with a third placed finish in a more competitive York event. Beaten by the classy Bullet Point that day, the Owen Burrows-trained son of Blue Point has shown that he’s certainly worth another crack at the Pattern company and he should be able to land victory over Spy Chief in the listed Dubai Duty Free Cup Stakes at Newbury at 4.05pm.
