2.28 Warwick – GONE IN SIXTY (1pt win – 9/4 bet365)
Hobie seeks a hat-trick of wins when lining up in the 2.28 at Warwick, but the David Dennis-trained raider has another 4lbs rise to contend with here and could be vulnerable. The one that catches the eye and can down that in-form rival is GONE IN SIXTY, who impressed last time out when second at Stratford and looks dangerously well handicapped. Rated in the high 80s over hurdles, he’s only rated 82 over fences, so tackling a chase on Tuesday should see him be thereabouts and he can gone one better than his last run here.
3.08 Beverley – WESTGATE WARRIOR (1pt win -2/1 bet365)
Unplaced over a mile at Nottingham two starts ago, Roy Bowring’s WESTGATE WARRIOR took a huge step forward when dropped to six furlongs last time out when finishing third at the same track. He maybe winless in five starts, but the three-year-old has certainly shaped like a sprinter, so a further drop to five furlongs for the 3.08pm at Beverley should bring on even more improvement here. He will have the tongue strap on for the first time here and a 3lbs drop by the handicapper gives him a real chance off 57 and he looks the solid option to break his duck.
3.38 Beverley – POWERFUL GLORY (1pt win – 5/2 generally)
Richard Fahey’s POWERFUL GLORY was a leading two-year-old last season that ended the campaign with a victory in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury. Well, he disappointed on his comeback run when eighth of nine in the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock Park, but the Cotai Glory colt is back to try and return to winning ways in a conditions event at Beverley at 3.38pm. The likes of Democracy Dilemma and Coto De Caza are lively rivals, but if he can recapture his juvenile form then he should be able to demolish these rivals in an intriguing contest.
3.50 Listowel – MATAARIKI (1pt win – 7/1 generally)
Joseph O’Brien’s MATAARIKI was a little disappointing last time out when fifth in a Group 3 at Tipperary, but a drop back to Listed level for the 3.50pm at Listowel could see her in a better light. Her previous run came at Galway, where she finished fourth in a Listed contest, but that was a decent result from a tough wide draw, so she could be better than that immediate result and is worth taking a chance in a trappy betting heat here.
