2.05 Sandown – TWILIGHT MADNESS (1pt win – 9/2 bet365)
Last seen finishing third at Chelmsford City, TWILIGHT MADNESS will return to the turf for the opening race at Sandown at 2.05pm. Winless in a couple of years, the seven-year-old has been falling down the handicap mark of a rate of knots during the last two seasons, but he’s now 9lbs lower than his last winning mark and could be capable of feature prominently off a mark of 67. Proven on soft going, he will need to find his best form here, but limited others make appeal, so he has to be respected.
3.35 Sandown – SALLAAL (1pt win – 11/8 William Hill)
An impressive winner on debut at Yarmouth, SALLAAL then stepped up in class to Listed company next time out, but could only finish fifth in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket. Sent to Hamilton Park for a novice event on his third start Roger Varian’s son of Frankel cruised to victory and then followed that up with a handicap success at the same Scottish venue in July. Not seen on the track since then, he returns to Listed level for the Fortune Stakes at 3.35pm and he can land the hat-trick ahead of Chantilly Lace and Cicero’s Gift, who look two big dangers.
4.00 Yarmouth – BEAUTIFUL LOVE (1pt win – 4/1 William Hill)
Charlie Appleby’s BEAUTIFUL LOVE has been competing in Group races all season, but the classy filly has struggled to get her head in front all campaign. However, she has put up some decent efforts in defeat and her second in the Middleton Stakes at York show that she has a lot class and she could well relish this drop back in grade here. A real globetrotter during the early parts of her career, she has some smart wins in Meydan and Belmont on her CV. and this looks an ideal opportunity for her to grab her second success on British soil in the 4.00pm at Yarmouth.
4.45 Sandown – DANCING TIGER (1pt win – 4/1 bet365)
Roger Teal’s DANCING TIGER appeared to relish the soft going at Goodwood on his last start as he bounded to a two-length win and he can duly follow that up with another win in the 4.45pm at Sandown. There’s sure to be plenty of cut in the ground at the Esher venue on Wednesday and having only been given a 4lbs rise then he has to be a leading contender. This is a better class contest, so he will need to build on that recent win, but now carrying bottom weight Teal’s charge looks capable of delivering the goods again.
