It’s a quiet day’s racing in terms of quality, but GG have picked out their Lucky 15 selections for the action on Wednesday 19th November. Check out their best bets from Warwick and Hexham here…
1.25 Warwick – VOCITO (1pt win – 10/1 bet365)
A winner at Uttoxeter off a mark of 117 back in July, Olly Murphy’s VOCITO has struggled to replicate that success off significantly higher marks in recent months. However, he’s been dropped back to the same mark of 117 for the 1.25pm at Warwick on Wednesday and he looks capable of landing this prize. Sixth last time out at Newbury, he will need to bounce back to form here, and while stablemate Diamond Geezer could prove to be the biggest danger, a drop back to class 4 and with Aidan Weaver taking 7lbs off his back then Vocito could be a decent value play in a trappy betting heat.
2.26 Hexham – FAIRLAWN FLYER (1pt win – 100/30 bet365)
A soft ground winner at Chepstow back in February, Dr J T ECKLEBURG is one of the contenders in the 2.20pm contest that will relish the rain-softened conditions and can strike gold in another competitive contest. The likes of Triple Trade and Glengouly have to be leading players, but it’s the Evan Williams-trained seven-year-old that can shine brightest. He’s only 3lbs higher than that Chepstow win, so a mark of 128 certainly looks workable, if he can produce his best. Sixth of nine at the October meeting at Cheltenham, he’s been dropped 1lb and that season opener is sure to bring him leaps and bounds for this event.
2.35 Warwick – CHUGGY (1pt win – 7/4 bet365)
Dan Skelton has made a barnstorming start to his season and the recent Paddy Power Gold Cup-winning trainer can taste more success at Warwick in the 2.35pm with CHUGGY, who was a winner last time out. Victorious by two-and-a-quarter lengths at Uttoxeter, he’s been given a 6lbs rise by the handicapper for that first career win over hurdles, but he still looks capable of delivering off 106. This will be tougher now he’s upped in class, but with the Skeltons firing on all cylinders then Chuggy can keep the run going and land this prize in style.
3.10 Warwick – THANKYOURLUCKYSTAR (1pt win – 5/2 bet365)
Harry Skelton is not one for taking too many outside rides, but he opts to partner Alistair Ralph’s THANKYOURLUCKYSTAR in the 3.10pm at Warwick and that could be a huge positive for that last-time-out winner. A rampant 15-length winner for Ralph and Skelton last time out at Worcester, he’s been given a whopping 11lbs rise for that dominant victory, but the manner in which he scooted clear of his rivals suggests more is to come. He relished the three miles that day, so another slight step up in distance shouldn’t be an issue, and he can prove to be much the best in this mediocre event.
