1.58 Nottingham – BRIELLE (1pt win – 10/3 bet365)
David O’Meara’s BRIELLE scorched to an emphatic three-length victory at Ayr a few weeks ago and while the flourishing filly will need to defy a 6lbs rise for that dominant success she has every capability of going in again in the 1.58pm at Nottingham. Surprisingly, she will step up significantly in trip from 1m 2f to 1m 6f for this contest, but she was certainly doing all her best work in the closing stages of that contest north of the border, so she shaped like further could bring on even more improvement and she looks the one to beat here.
2.58 Nottingham – RENOVATIO ANGEL (1pt win – 7/2 bet365)
Second at Ripon on his last start, RENOVATIO ANGEL can go one better on Wednesday afternoon and record victory in the 2.58pm at Nottingham. Tom Dascombe’s Harry Angel colt pulled well clear of the third that day and was duly handed a 2lbs rise by the handicapper. but he looks like he has every chance of delivering a knockout blow off 76. Outclassed in a York sales race earlier in the season, Renovatio Angel will enjoy stepping up in trip for this contest, and having recorded two of his best efforts in recent times then he can continue on an upward curve and land this trappy betting heat.
3.35 Ludlow – HOLD YOUR FORT (1pt win – 4/1 bet365)
Almazhar Garde is going in search of a hat-trick of wins in the 3.35pm contest, but another 3lbs rise could see him finally venture into the handicapper’s grip, and the one to side with HOLD YOUR FORT for Debra Hamer. The Newton Abbot specialist will be making his first trip to Ludlow for this contest and will need to bounce back from a below-par performance last time out at that West Country track. He was too free that day when ridden off the pace, so it could be connections opt to ride him closer to the pace, and it could galvanise him in a relatively weak contest and he can return to winning ways.
3.45 Sedgefield – FLAMELCO (1pt win – 11/4 generally)
Only four runners line up for the 3.45pm at Sedgefield, but Sarah Humphrey’s FLAMELCO could dominate this contest from the flag fall. A winner at Plumpton two starts ago, the seven-year-old failed to then follow that up when finishing third at Huntingdon, but a return to a left-handed track here could bring on notable improvement. He is likely to be ridden prominently again here and he could well get a few of his rivals out of their comfort zone during the early stages and keep his head in front.
