Romancero Le Dun (2.30 Ludlow) – 5/1
January NAP Profit/Loss to a £1 level stake (Settled at SP): +£0.85
A chance is taken that ROMANCERO LE DUN is overpriced here as third favourite, partly due to being at a less fashionable yard then the main rivals. He was as green as grass when unseating his rider on debut, however, showed he has plenty of talent at this level next time.
He was once again green at Exeter drifting right in the run in but stuck on to win by a cosy two lengths. The horse in 2nd that day went on to win a Class 2 at Newcastle next time to frank the form. I think he should be closer to the favourite in the betting and happy to take 5/1 on offer currently.
DOUBLE
January Double Profit/Loss to a £1 level stake (Settled at SP): -£5
Tollerton Forest (12.45 Kempton) – 4/7
TOLLERTON FOREST is in great order right now and won yesterday at Wolverhampton having travelled comfortably. The margin of victory didn’t necessarily flatter him but he was always doing enough in front. He will take all the beating again off the same mark if the race hasn’t come too soon.
Javert Allen (1.00 Ludlow) – 7/2
JAVERT ALLEN created a deep impression when winning his only start at Bangor in November. It was only against four rivals but he cruised up and put the race to bed in impressive fashion. With a hot-favourite taking up a lot of the market, he looks a real good price here. He can build on that 13 length victory and go in again.
OUTSIDER: For Langy (2.00 Ludlow) – 6/1
January Outsider Profit/Loss to a £1 level stake (Settled at SP): -£5
I thought it was worth taking on the French recruit Fire Dancer whose form is hard to assess. FOR LANGY may not have won on these shores yet but has run some very solid races. He’s been placed a few times and has slipped to a handy enough mark to suggest he might be in for a day in the sunshine sooner or later. He’s solid enough and I will have an each way dart on him here.
