It’s day two of Glorious Goodwood on Wednesday 30th July, 2025 and our in-house tipster Steve Chambers picks out his best bets across the card for what should be a fabulous day’s racing on the south coast.

1:20pm Goodwood – Coral Pipped At The Post Winners Handicap
A trappy opening contest to kick off day two of Glorious Goodwood begins at 1.20pm and the race to look back at is the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. Favourite for this contest Sing Us A Song was ninth in that event and is looking to bounce back to form here, but a horse that finished ahead of him that day despite having traffic problems was Joseph O’Brien’s OMNI MAN, who can build on that fifth in that race and looks the one to side with.
He was trapped for room at the business end of the race that day and while he would’ve been no match for the winner Merchant that day, he could’ve finished a lot closer at the finish. He will have the burden of top weight here and has been upped 3lbs for that Royal Ascot run, but he looks to have potential to improve again and can land this prize with Ryan Moore in the saddle.
1:55pm Goodwood – HKJC World Pool Oak Tree Stakes
Roger Varian’s JABAARA failed to fire on the all-weather at Chelmsford City last time out, but a return to the turf for the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes at 1.55pm can see the daughter of Exceed And Excel get back to winning ways and get the better of the well-fancied Tabiti. Prior to that Chelmsford run, she ran a fine race to claim a Listed win at Musselburgh and a repeat of that effort would see her on the vicinity.
The ground will be a little easier than the good to firm she won on at the Scottish track two outings ago, but she does have winning form on good ground, so should have no issues with the underfoot conditions. This is a strong, competitive race, but Varian’s filly may just have the class needed to land the prize.

4:55pm Goodwood – World Pool Bet With The Tote Handicap
Karl Burke’s NATIVE WARRIOR stormed to victory at Newcastle on his last start and having only been handed a 3lbs rise by the handicapper for that win then he could be more than capable of going in again and is the one to side with in the last race of the day at 4.55pm.
He appeared to improve for the fitting of headgear and with it applied for a second time in a row for this Goodwood finale then he could strike gold again. Plenty line up with a notable chance here in what is the toughest betting heat of the day, but Native Warrior could just prove to be too good and he can defy top weight.
