Hamilton & Beverley Racing Tips - Joe Napier's Lucky 15 Tips for Wednesday 27 May

Six meetings are split perfectly in two between the flat and the jumps on Wednesday. There is action in Britain and Ireland, on the turf and the all-weather across the afternoon.

GG tipster Joe Napier has picked out our Lucky 15 best bets for Wednesday. He has two selections each at Hamilton and Beverley.

Hamilton Racing Tips (Wednesday 27 May)

Three 0-80 handicaps ensure there is good quality racing at Hamilton. Joe is tipping a trainer to record a double with his two best bets at the Scottish venue.

3.05 Hamilton – Siouxpersonic (1pt win – 11/4)

Although Watchdog is on a hat-trick, he is up in class here. He is firmly going the right way, but may bump into a serious rival here in Siouxpersonic. A winner on her final start for Ed Bethell, her opening three-year-old handicap mark of 75 looked tough. However, she produced her best performance on turf so far on debut for Julie Camacho. She was beaten just a head into second over 6f at Ripon. She and Ryan Sexton pulled nearly five lengths clear of the third too. As such, although she moves up to class 4 company too, this looks a comparable race in terms of difficulty. A 3lb rise for her reappearance can be overcome.

15:05 ICB (Water Proofing) Handicap

4.05 Hamilton – Vingegaard (1pt win – 8/1)

Having sent out a winner on Monday, Camacho can complete a Wednesday double with Vingegaard. The son of Mehmas was a very talented juvenile for Archie Watson. He was second in Newbury’s Super Sprint while twice contesting Group 3 races. In one of those, he was a close fourth in Kempton’s Sirenia Stakes. He missed 504 days after his last two-year-old run and was gelded in that time too. He also left Watson, joining Camacho and struggling on the all-weather between February and March. However, the four-year-old showed a spark at Catterick returned to turf last time. He was third of five behind two horses ahead of their marks. That was also over 6f, but he may be an out-and-out sprinter at the shortest trip. He is down another 2lb, but is thrown in on his best form from 2024. His recent efforts suggest he is closing in on a return to the winners’ enclosure.

16:05 David Hardie Engineering Ltd Handicap

Beverley Racing Tips (Wednesday 27 May)

Seven races take place at Beverley on Wednesday. Joe has two tips at the Yorkshire venue, including a horse chasing a hat-trick.

3.15 Beverley – Coolree (1pt win – )

It should pay to keep it simple in this class 5 handicap by backing Coolree to complete his hat-trick. The seven-year-old appears to have a new lease of life for Sam England. Although down the field on his first two starts for England, he was third when returned to turf at this track last month. He followed that up 11 days later by winning a 14-runner handicap over 1m½f, then repeated the trick a week on. Now, another 15 days later, the hat-trick could easily be on with the handicapper putting him up just 4lb. He was a commanding winner the last day and should have enough of a turn of foot to cope with dropping back to 7½f.

15:15 Ward Homes Yorkshire 10th Anniversary Handicap

4.50 Beverley – Off Spin (1pt win – )

The first two runs beyond 1m1f for Off Spin produced two tailed-off finishes. As a result, connections appeared to believe he was a non-stayer, but it may be that there were other excuses. His first run over 1m2f at Redcar saw him competing off a mark of 68, which has since proven well beyond his capabilities. Having finished a good second at Newmarket over 1m1f later last season, he was then last of 11 on Southwell’s all-weather, but that was his debut on an artificial surface. Returning this season, he was a good third on his second run of 2026. That was back up to 1m2f at Ripon when strong through the finish. Down another 1lb to a career low rating of 56, he may deliver now he goes up to 1m4f. Given his sire’s stamina, this may suit his strengths.

16:50 Hurn Handicap
