There’s only three horse racing fixtures taking place on Tuesday 30 December in the UK and we turn our attentions to a brace of them, as our GG Lucky 15 tips comes from Haydock and Taunton.
We go through both meetings below and pick out our selections meeting by meeting.
Haydock Racing Tips (Tuesday 30 December 2025)
A seven race card at Haydock begins at 12.35pm and there are four hurdle races and three chases. Check out our best bets across the fixture below.
1.35 Haydock – Bowenspark (1pt win – 11/4)
Henry Daly’s Bowenspark is still winless over fences, but the seven-year-old can finally get his head in front over the larger obstacles with victory in the 1.35pm race. A creditable second at Southwell last time out, Bowenspark has been given another 1lb drop in the handicap for Tuesday’s contest, so a mark of 117 certainly looks feasible. Ned Tanner won this race last season, so has to be respected, but he’s 7lbs higher in this year’s contest, so he could struggle to follow that win up and is worth taking on with Bowenspark, who can land the prize.
2.05 Haydock – Paddy O’Mahler (1pt win – 7/2)
Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith’s yard have been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks and they can taste more success in the 2.05pm at Haydock with Paddy O’Mahler, who can make the most of bottom weight. A brace of second placed finishes at Market Rasen and Wetherby back in November, he then followed that up with a victory at Newcastle, where he was victorious by five lengths. He’s been upped 5lbs by the handicapper for that win, so a mark of 105 will challenge him, but he’s in the form of his life heading into the event and he can dominate this event in the final few furlongs.
3.05 Haydock – Whistle Stop Tour (1pt win – 9/2)
Jupiter Des Bordes was an impressive winner at Warwick last time out, but he will have to deal with a 9lbs rise for that victory and will find things tougher in the Last Fling Handicap Chase at 3.05pm. Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore’s Whistle Stop Tour has struggled to get his head in front of late, but this task looks a little easier than his last outing at Haydock, where he finished fifth. Dropped 3lbs by the handicapper, he takes his chance off 127 for this contest, and having been a previous off 130 then he has a real chance to claim the win. He was behind Wa Wa last time out, and that pair do battle again, but the drop in the handicap gives Whistle Stop Tour a great chance to land the win.
Taunton Racing Tips (Tuesday 30 December 2025)
Taunton’s National Hunt card gets underway at 12.50pm and our best bet on the card lines up in the 1.50pm event.
1.50 Taunton – Bertie Wooster (1pt win – 6/1)
Joe Tizzard’s Bertie Wooster has finished runner-up on his last two starts at Taunton and he will attempt to go one better when he takes his chance in the 1.50pm event. He was no match for the classy Kap Vert last time out, but he’s since been dropped 1lb, so a mark of 99 looks feasible in a competitive race. He has been a winner over hurdles at Taunton off a mark 10lbs higher, so if he can show the same sort of form here then he has to be respected.
