There are only six races during Haydock Park’s Jumps card on Tuesday and Andrew’s sole selection lines up in the 12.35pm contest.
12.35 Haydock – Guchen (0.5pt e/w – 7/1 bet365, three places, Coral also paying three places)
Guchen is unlikely to receive a huge amount of assistance from Aamilah Aswat in the saddle in this conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle, but he has caught the eye over shorter trips this year and looks interesting now upped to 3m for the first time. The Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls-trained five-year-old beat only one home over the extended 2m4f trip at Huntingdon last time but was keeping on again at the business end to go down by just five lengths and he looks over-priced.
Wolverhampton Racing Tips (Tuesday 30 December 2025)
A bumper nine races take place on the all-weather at Wolverhampton, with the action starting at 4.30pm. However, you have to wait for the final race on the card at 8.30pm for Andrew’s selection.
8.30 Wolverhampton – Alafdhal (1pt win – 8/1 Paddy Power/Sky Bet)
Phil McEntee’s Alafdhal has a strong seasonal pattern to his form, usually peaking at this time of year. The seven-year-old has defied market drifts to win for us the last twice and his record in December/January now reads 111124731901211 (8-15) for a profit of £28.13 to a £1 level stake at SP (+£33.43 at Betfair SP after 2% commission). Well drawn in stall 3, this sometimes-keen sort should get a good tow into the race from pacesetter Sam’s Xpress, who might have to work harder than ideal in the early stages to get across from his stall 10 draw.
