Hereford & Kempton Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Wednesday 10 December

Hereford & Kempton Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Wednesday 10 December

Andrew Mount has three best bets for Wednesday’s racing. His selections run at Hereford and Kempton, with all three standing huge chances.

Wednesday’s racing will see five fixtures take place with three National Hunt fixtures and two all-weather meetings on a busy day’s action.

Hereford Racing Tips (Wednesday 10 December 2025)

Andrew’s first selection runs at Hereford on Wednesday in a competitive mares’ handicap hurdle.

3.37 Hereford – Santa Sabina (0.5pt e/w – 20/1 bet365)

Santa Sabina wouldn’t be an obvious choice for this mares’ novices’ limited handicap hurdle after three comprehensive defeats last spring/summer, but they came when 100-1 or bigger in maiden and novice company and this lowly handicap is more realistic. Richard Phillips’ handicap debutants often out-run their odds and the daughter of Gentlewave wasn’t totally disgraced when a 200-1 fifth of eight at Worcester last time, finishing just a short head behind Locked Down Lad whose subsequent record (all in handicaps) reads 23323 (0-5) with the latest third place off a mark of 90. She makes her handicap debut of a mark of just 73 and a top three or four finish looks within her compass.

Kempton Racing Tips (Wednesday 10 December 2025)

Kempton’s all-weather meeting takes place in the evening on Wednesday, with Andrew picking out two best bets at the track.

5.30 Kempton – Rory’s Royale (1pt e/w – 12/1 bet365)

Rory’s Royale was added to my horse tracker after his 125-1 debut eighth of nine in a 7f novice contest at Leicester, as his eight-length defeat from the worst of the draw was a useful effort in the circumstances. I took a chance and backed him each-way at 200-1 for a 7f novice contest at Kempton next time, topping up in the four places market on the exchanges, despite his wide draw and the suspicion that Simon Hodgson’s three-year-old gelding was a future handicap project. He ran another eyecatcher that day, coming from well in rear to finish fifth and just missing out on fourth place by a neck. Last month’s 14-1 third of five in a 7f Chelmsford novice was another step in the right direction and we’re likely to see improvement now that he goes handicapping off a lowly mark.

8.00 Kempton – The Spotlight Kid (0.5pt e/w – 8/1 bet365)

The Spotlight Kid needs a big field/strong pace scenario and it’s no coincidence that his four career wins, two of them at tonight’s venue, have come in fields of 14 or more runners. Dean Ivory’s six-year-old returned from a 206-day layoff with a respectable 16-1 fifth of eight at Chelmsford late last month in a race not run to suit and, even though we can expect one or two of her 13 rivals to be withdrawn with BDCs (bad draw certificates), there should still be a strong pace thanks to Classic Speed and Dion Baker.
