EVERGLOW – (1.30 Ayr, 1pt win – 11/2)
EVERGLOW may have been a touch disappointing overall this season but this is effectively a 0-130 race and the weakest contest that he has contested to date and the price simply dictates that he must be backed. He ran an eye-catching race from the rear of the field at the Cheltenham Festival in the Pertemps Final at a big price to finish 9th beaten 11 lengths but he did second-best of those from the rear and the other has already won this week at Cheltenham in, Ask Dillion. That came in the first time blinkers and providing they have the same positive effect he should be able to make his presence felt in this company. He is still unexposed on a quicker surface and at this trip, so with his form among the best on offer and him looking a strong stayer at the trip, he can come out on top. Beyond The Pale is not guaranteed to see out this new trip and there are few others that make an appeal from a handicapping perspective.

DINGLE – (2.50 Newbury, 0.5pt each-way – 9/1)
Highly competitive but it’s worth taking a chance on DINGLE for a yard that has won this three times in the last eight years and the selection looks well treated off this handicap mark of 86 on the balance of his three runs to date. He was comfortably on top at the line at Kempton off a 4lb lower mark in September when taking the scalp of a now 107 rated rival. He still looked green that day and has the size and scope to prove a much better three-year-old and his earlier Maiden form behind two useful 103 and 108 rated horses, looks red hot.

HURRICANE LANE – (3.25 Newbury, 1pt win – 6/1)
HURRICANE LANE is a chancy bet but he impressed with his victory on heavy ground at Newmarket in October in a valuable Staying Novice Stakes race and the way he powered clear in the closing stages marked him down as one to follow. He didn’t look to enjoy that ground and will be seen to much better effect today on a sounder surface over a longer trip. None of his rivals set the bar too high so he is worth taking a chance on.

DINO VELVET – (3.50 Ayr, 2pts win – 11/2)
DINO VELVET disappointed at Haydock last time on the face of it but it’s highly likely that an attempt at a repeat victory in this race was the plan, and if that’s the case, it was a step back in the right direction. This is a much weaker contest than he is used to contesting and he sits only 2lbs higher than his 2018 victory and it’s a positive that the cheek-pieces have been retained. His form figures at this Ayr venue read 1,2 with the defeat coming at the hands of Verdana Blue in her prompt. He must hold valid claims in this poor contest.
