Horse Racing Tips - Daryl Carter Best Bets On Friday, October 29

Top tipster Daryl Carter struck with Norley (advised 2/1) yesterday and has three bets for Friday’s racing. Check out his thoughts below, alongside an exclusive bet365 offer which provides new customers with up to £100 in bet credits.

NOT WHAT IT SEEMS (NAP) – (1.30 Wetherby, 2pt win, 10/3)

NOT WHAT IT SEEMS has been handed a very lenient opening handicap mark of 108, and on the evidence of his latest run here at Wetherby, he offers plenty of value at the prices. He was too keen through many of his bumpers and maiden hurdles and bumped into a few useful sorts, but this looks a good bit of placing by Micky Hammond, who seems to have improved his five-year-old over the summer.

With improvement expected on the back of his reappearance run where he chased home the 120-rated Glencassley, he should have little trouble at a course he runs well at sweeping some exposed rivals to the side. This longer trip will see him to best effect and now moving into handicaps, and he won’t get many better opportunities than this to get off the mark over hurdles.

MOVING LIGHT – (3.40 Newmarket, 1pt win, 5/1)

Saeed bin Suroor is no stranger to getting horses fit after an absence, so the 377-day break for MOVING LIGHT should be of little concern. He was extremely impressive on his debut at Leicester in July last year when easily brushing aside the 95-rated Thibaan and then quickened away in the style of a good horse at Kempton on the back of a break.

He disappointed when last seen at Wolverhampton, which clearly brought to light an issue, and now on return, he can pick back up the progressive thread. He looked well above-average in his two victories last season, so this mark of 92 shouldn’t be beyond him. He faces mainly exposed rivals today, and the two three-year-olds have hardly set the world alight. He is worth chancing on return.

FAST FORWARD – (5.00 Kempton, 1pt win, 4/1)

The unexposed FAST FORWARD gets the nod after catching the eye from well off the pace here 18 days ago. He finished behind Under Oath on that occasion but made up considerable ground from the rear of the field and gave the well-handicapped winner first run.

The penny dropped for him in that race, and with a good draw and a more prominent position adopted looking likely under Hollie Doyle, he looks ready to strike off this basement mark of 47.

His improved performance came on the back of a gelding operation and on handicap debut, and the handicapper surprisingly dropped him 2lbs for that effort. He could have more to offer after just four starts, and he is bred to be better than this grade.
