RIOT is a horse to keep on side for powerful connections and this handicap mark of 90 looks well within reach. He didn’t deliver on the back of a 397 day break at Kempton in October and has subsequently under gone a gelding operation but he wasn’t disgraced in that hot contest off a 2lb higher mark when beaten just 4 lengths. His form as a 2yo notably at Sandown would suggest he has a fair bit in hand off this mark and this is much weaker than the Kempton contest he was weak in the market for. Still unexposed and with the potential to rate much higher he gets the vote.

BROWN DELIVERS was a well supported favourite at Kempton but verred left at the bend to lose considerable ground and throw his race away. The fact that he managed to get within six lengths of the winner racing wide on the track marked him down as one to follow. The second horse rated 75 set a good standard there and this looks a good opportunity to set the record straight so a chance is taken with this step up in trip and left handed track both likely to suit.

MUMS TIPPLE won well for this column at Wolverhampton last time out and looked a rejuvenated horse over 7f for the first time and on that evidence he should have no issues with this extra furlong today. He has all the attributes to make up into a top class 1m horse and is so lightly raced that there could be plenty more to come. He finished with plenty of running left at Wolves and has been given a good draw in stall 4 to gain a prominent position under the excellent Sean Levey so there will be no excuses when push comes to shove.
