It’s worth taking a chance on BIMBLE on seasonal return after she showed an abundance of promise as a three-year-old last term against some more experienced rivals. Her opening handicap makr of 82 looked extremely lenient last term on the back of an excellent time figure performance at Goodwood but the rain arrived to scupper her chances at Salisbury when a very good second to Star In The Making who wasn’t beaten far in Listed Company on her next three starts and is now rated 93 (8lbs higher). She ran a good race at Nottingham next time but was unfavoured by her track position and did the best of those ridden on the far side of the track on that particular day over sprint trips before getting stuck in the mud over 7f on her final outing. She has proven to go well fresh previously and the quicker ground today is certainly in her favour so looks the way to go off this mark of 84.

Fiordland – (4.10pm Windsor, 1pt win – 11/4)
FIORDLAND is likely to prove much the best of these in time so despite his wide draw in stall 10 he is worth chancing off what looks a lenient opening handicap mark of 77. He beat a useful field at Wolverhampton last time out and the form of his Kempton second when far too free to do himself justice looks extremely strong in the context of this race. The Kempton run has been boosted by the winner rated 86 and the third rated 81 so he is worth taking a chance on to overcome the bias.

Sycamore – (4.40pm Windsor, 1pt win – 5/2)
Another horse that is drawn wide at this venue but surely has the scope to be rated higher than this handicap mark of 72 is SYCAMORE who looked a horse to keep on the right side of before his gelding operation and recent return run in which the drop back to 6f played against him. The form of his runner up effort at Salisbury reads extremely well splitting two horses rated 80 and 87 and the step back up in trip now race fit off a 1lb lower mark are all positives to his chances here. The son of Kingman is open to significant progress under Oisin Murphy and this 1m trip will see him improve further so gets the vote.

Ricksen – (4:40pm Windsor, 0.5pts each-way – 16/1)
A competitive race but a chance is taken on RICKSEN who has disappointed in two starts on the AW but looked a horse to follow on his final start for Ian Jardine on turf when chasing home a useful horse in Valyrian Steel (87) at Beverley. His prior run at Ayr in a Maiden when second to Tiritomba (87) when beaten 2 lengths when attempting to give that rival 5lbs also reads well and it could be that a switch back to turf off this lowly handicap mark of 72 lets him continue his progression. He is drawn well in stall 3 and in hope that he is given a prominent ride by Richard Kingscote he has every chance of reaching the frame in this contest.
