With cut in the gound another chance is given to GET KNOTTED who has ran with extreme credit three times this season at this track despite the ground being on the fast side. The step back up to 1m, for which he was an excellent closing 4th behind Garden Oasis in a good class 4 event in June, is a positive.
This is his first career attempt in a class 5 race, and although there are some less exposed types in the field, he is remarkably consistent at this course, and his last visit with cut in the ground saw him score off a 14lbs higher mark. He has proven he retains plenty of ability, and today could be the day to catch him.

STAY COUL – (7.35 Windsor, 1pt each-way – 14/1)
I am happy to take on the odds-on jolly here given Windsor is due plenty of rain and he is unproven on soft ground. There is a question mark about a few of these at the trip also, but the step up in trip on soft ground could be just the ticket for STAY COOL, who did remarkably well from off the pace at Sandown back in May to chase home Coul Kat.
That race has produced plenty of winners since. Although the break of 74 days is a slight concern (which may explain why recent course and distance scorer General Lee is ahead of him in the betting) he looks a favourable price should the ground deteriorate. It’s not often you see David Menuisier here at Windsor.

DIGITAL – (7.55 Ripon, 1pt win – 4/1)
DIGITAL has been knocking on the door over this 5f trip since getting his head in front this time last year over the much improved Significantly and took a good step back in the right direction at Goodwood last month when third behind Whenthedealinsdone in a hot race.
This represents a drop in grade off the same handicap mark, and he is unexposed over 5f after just the six starts with form figures reading 222123, and his sole effort in class 4 company came off the back of a 228-day break when beaten a short head. He is worth keeping on the right side of at this level, and although stall 1 is not ideal, he will at least get clear sailing down the outside.
