SAMOOT (3.30 Wolverhampton, 3pts win 15/8)
SAMOOT can complete the hat-trick here and looks a filly going places on the evidence of her latest Salisbury win where nothing went right for her.
She has a brilliant turn of foot, boasts a course and distance win (again when nothing went right) and is very much on the up. She should rate higher than this mark in time and this looks a good opportunity on the pick of her form and today’s race is effectively a drop in grade from Class 3 to Class 4.
Her main danger will be the Roger Varian-trained She Do, who looks well treated but has been off for 228 days, so may lack the finishing kick but is one to keep on side for next time.

This race looks as though it’s asking for an upset, so a chance is taken on the well-handicapped PROTON.
He has shown next to nothing on his two starts on return from a 400-odd day layoff, but he wasn’t asked for an effort the first time out at Leicester when given an impossible task and then failed to handle the track when held up in a good race at Chester.
As a result, the handicapper has dropped him 8lbs, and he now runs in a class 4 event and returns to soft ground for which his form figures read 13215. He is still unexposed to a degree, none of these is really progressing and there looks to be a really strong pace on here, so his ability to stay further will work in his favour.
