Horse Racing Tips - Daryl Carter Best Bets On Monday, November 1

Daryl Carter has three Monday horse racing tips. Check them out below, alongside an exclusive Sky Bet offer, which provides new customers with £20 in free bets when you bet £5.

CHAMPAGNE WELL (2.45 Plumpton, 1pt each-way 20/1)

CHAMPAGNE WELL travelled nicely throughout his return at Chepstow in a race that is sure to continue to work out well but dropped out when approaching the second last as though there was something amiss. He is worth another chance at big odds here dropped into a Class 3 hurdle for the first time.

He spent the season over fences last term over various trips, but his jumping let him down for the most part. Prior to his seasonal return off the back of a 311-day break, he was rated 141 over hurdles, and the form is solid. He is now 10lbs lower and travelled like a well-handicapped horse at Chepstow, so another chance is offered.

He is unexposed around this trip over hurdles with form figures of 216323, and three of those came in graded company, including a three-length second to Thyme Hill. He needs to bounce back, but his odds mean he is worth chancing.

SHANDOZ (3.05 Kempton, 1pt each-way 10/1)

SHANDOZ will need to improve a good deal for his seasonal return outing at Lingfield when beaten a neck to live with some of these at the top of the market, but there was a good deal of promise in his run.

Most of these arrive on the back of long hard seasons, but Roger Varian’s horse is fresh as a daisy and firmly on the upgrade. He is entitled to improve for his Lingfield run off the back of a gelding operation and a 360-day break, and he is far less exposed than the majority of these.

Hamish could bounce back down in trip after a disappointing effort at Ascot on Champions Day, but at double-figure odds and three places to play for, Shandoz makes plenty of appeals.

COTTON END (NAP) (3.25 Hereford, 1pt each-way 12/1)

There are a few to consider here headed by top weights COTTON END and Volkovka, but the former gets the vote returned to Hereford off a workable handicap mark with a race fitness edge.

The selection has run two excellent races here from three starts at this venue which includes a 14 length romp last year. She fell when about to give the progressive Maksada a run for her money, and that horse is now 15lb higher in the handicap. She has some strong form to her name at the back end of last season, including taking the scalps of Glory And Fortune and Get Back Get Back, and the former is now rated 13lbs higher.

She was too keen at Ludlow and failed to see out the trip, but that should have put her spot on for this and the drop back to 2m looks a good move. She represents a bit of value at a double-figure price, and she is below her last winning mark, inclusive of the jockey claim.
