Daryl Carter struck with 9/1 nap Getalead at Wincanton yesterday, and he has three selections for Monday’s action. Check out his thoughts below, along with an excellent offer from Boylesports, who are offering Bet £10 – Get £20 In Free Bets to new customers.
ACKLAM GOLD – (1.40 Leicester, 1pt win, 4/1)
A chance is given to ACKLAM GOLD, who has proven to be a different proposition switched to handicaps in two starts at Newcastle but has failed to get the strong pace needed to capitalise on his opening handicap mark.
This bigger field event is full of pace, and soft ground should prove no issue for him. The booking of Silvestre De Sousa catches the eye with a 33% strike rate for the trainer at this venue, so the dice is rolled.

LAST LOOK – (2.05 Redcar, 2pt win, 4/1) (NAP)
I want to take on this favourite who looks to have been given a stiff enough opening handicap mark and will need to improve to land this event. LAST LOOK ran a blinder from stall 17 of 20 at York last time on return from a spell in Meydan where she was disappointing.
She was forced wide at York for much of the race but effortlessly quickened past rivals to hit the front before fitness told in the final 100 yards of the 1m2f trip. That run was off the back of a 233-day break, so she is entitled to improve again, and it was also her first start in cheekpieces.
Today sees her drop back to 1m which will see her to best effect and this on paper, is a weaker contest than she faced last time. She offers a good bit of value at the prices, especially given the sixth came out and won very easily at Newbury at the weekend.

JAMES WATT – (7.00 Newcastle, 1pt each-way, 14/1)
The market leaders here have excellent records at this track, but the draws in stall 1 and 2 are far from ideal. It may pay to take a chance on JAMES WATT at a price who was eye-catching at Ripon on his penultimate start before running below par on soft ground at Musselburgh, but that’s easily forgiven given his soft ground record.
He has two runner-up efforts to his name at this venue and one poor run where he wasn’t moving correctly, according to the jockey. On his peak efforts this season the form ties in with those at the top of the market, leaving him very little to find, and he has the benefit of being drawn on the right side of the track. He could throw up a surprise here at double-figure odds.
