A tight field and it may pay to side with DAAWY who shaped better than the bare result last time at Carlisle behind a useful one, and that 1m6f trip probably stretched his stamina.
Today represents a drop into Class 5 company for the first time since scoring in 2018 off a handicap mark of 83. This is also his first run over this 1m4f trip on good ground since his win at Hamilton off a 2lbs higher handicap mark in September of last season, and he returns to this trip off a career low mark.
He tends to run into form at this time of year with form figures in September to early October of 011135413 (3 of his 5 wins in Sept). His best form has come over today’s 1m4f trip and while the two three-year-olds will prove popular, they both need to take a step forward. This is only his second start of the season on good ground (latest the other) and he should be making his presence felt here.
