I like the chances of the returning DEAD RIGHT today who has done all of his winning when fresh off the back of a break of 75 days or more, and today returns from 141 days off the track. He can be forgiven his latest effort when 13 of 13 at Ayr in a first time tongue-tie but shaped well even though he couldn’t get involved before that at Cheltenham in the Paddy Power Plate.
He is only2lb above his last winning mark three starts ago (Sept last year) when scoring in a hot Market Rasen handicap, and he is very lightly raced for a nine-year-old (12 starts). He has failed to finish outside of the first two in fields of 8 or fewer runners, and he looks well treated on his market Rasen win, with the runner-up scoring twice since and now 9lbs higher. He is worth chancing over this vulnerable favourite.
