Our tip tipster, Daryl Carter brings a Saturday super six for the cards at Haydock, Chester, Beverley and Salisbury. Check out his bets below,
.
[QUICKTHORN] – (1.15 Haydock, 2pts win – 4/1)
QUICKTHORN has been off a long time 318 days to be exact, but he has won fresh off a long break previously, and the form of his four runs to date has worked out remarkably well to suggest that he is easily well ahead of his handicap mark of 84.
He has improved with each start and has now been gelded, and with the latest RPR of 91 he looks weighted to go well. He is one I have been waiting to reappear.
[BACK QUICKTHORN]
[ISHVARA] – (14:20 Haydock, 1pt each-way – 25/1)
This race asks for an upset, and although ISHVARA is not the most reliable, she is talented on her day. She was better than the bare result at Newmarket behind Arecibo last time, having to come from an unpromising position.
She also has a run last term behind Blue De Vega at Leicester when Ainsdale was behind in fourth, and that ties in with the two at the top of the market. She goes well on soft ground and has a course win to her name in good style here last June, and it looks as though she has a good draw to grab the rail, so a chance is taken.
[BACK ISHVARA]
[BOARDMAN] – (14.40 Chester, 2pts win – 5/1)
I’ve missed the boat with BOARDMAN the last twice, but I won’t be today as this looks like an excellent chance to rack up the hatrick. I initially tipped him here at this venue last season on first start for the yard when he got no run but handled the track excellently well.
He has a good draw and although 10lb higher for his last two wins, that doesn’t look too high on the balance of his form and will surely rate higher.
[BACK BOARDMAN]
[ROBJON] – (15.10 Beverley, 1pt win – 7/1)
The market is all wrong here; ROBJON is in no way the outsider of the field and is the most likely winner on the heavy ground. He was better than the bare result last time at York and did best of those from the rear after being denied a clear passage and was the only one to make any inroads on the well-positioned winner.
His win at Brighton on debut marked him down as a useful type, and there is no reason why he can’t progress again. None of these other than the selection and The Gatekeeper has achieved much so it needs someone to step forward.
[BACK ROBJON]
[BIGGLES] – (18.45 Salisbury, 1pt win – 9/4)
BIGGLES travelled through his race at Newmarket like one well ahead of the handicapper but was outstayed inside the final furlong by another progressive horse over 7f.
Today’s drop back in trip could make all the difference, and given he is entitled to improve for that run (came on the back of a gelding op), he looks the one to side with. Unexposed and progressive, he appeals in this field, especially as this is a drop into a Class 5.
[BACK BIGGLES]
[CADEAU DOR] – (20.15 Salisbury, 1pt each-way – 6/1)
Another class dropper on the card is CADEAU DOR, last seen chasing home the useful Global Storm at Newmarket in a hot Class 2 race. He failed to handle the dip on his first try at that venue but stuck to the task well once hitting the rising ground.
He remains a maiden, but his form in defeat last term looks very strong now, and he has improved with each run this term. The cheek-pieces remain on, and he is wildly over-priced turned out quickly.
[BACK CADEAU DOR])
