Towards The Dawn – (3.30 Southwell, 1pt win – 10/3)
TOWARDS THE DAWN is by far the most interesting runner in this race after only being touched off at Ludlow by a subsequent winner in Mr Washington. That trip of 2m5f looked to stretch the Ben Pauling trained six-year-old and the drop back to 2m4f here will be in his favour. His previous race at Ascot on seasonal return off 3lb lower when behind College Oak has worked out well with the second and the seventh both coming out to win next time. This looks competitive but it is also a slight ease in grade from 0-115 to 0-110 and this track should suit, so with the cheek-pieces retained he should go close under regular rider Luca Morgan.
