PRESENTING DYLAN (1.15 Musselburgh, 1pt win, 6/1)
PRESENTING DYLAN makes most appeal on the back of an encouraging chase debut, and given the figures he recorded on that occasion far surpass anything he achieved over hurdles in Ireland, he is worth siding with to back that up.
This is not a deep contest, and his trainer makes the long 358-mile journey to Musselburgh. He runs off the same mark as his close fourth at Ayr on chase debut, and that form has a good look to it for the level.
The two at the top of the market, Broadway Joe and Just Call Me Al both step up in grade, while Away At Dawn has had multiple opportunities and is vulnerable to an improver, and The Blame Game makes his Chase debut and has a good bit to find on his hurdle form.

MONSIEUR LECOQ (2.00 Lingfield, 1pt win, 5/1)
This is a tricky race, and although he is none too reliable, it might pay to take a chance on MONSIEUR LECOQ, who reverts back to hurdles after a solid enough chase campaign this season. He has proven to be in and out, but he is a useful and well-handicapped horse on his day.
His last start over hurdles came from a handicap mark of 145, and he now runs off 129 today, including the jockey claim. This is a race where questions need answering from most in the field, and the return to soft/heavy ground is in his favour, with form figures in both chase and hurdle spheres reading 212352431 in Britain since 2019. This is a career-low handicap mark, and he could be the answer to a tricky puzzle.
Calico would rate the biggest danger, but I am slightly concerned there is a wind issue there given the way he faded over 2m3f in a first time tongue-tie at Haydock last time on good ground. You would like to think that the extra three furlongs weren’t the issue, given he is a heavy ground 2m winner previously. Hudson De Grugy was poor last time and needs to bounce back but doesn’t look particularly well handicapped and Miss Heritage and Heure De Gloire fit the same bracket.
Elham Valley is capable off of this mark, but it’s been poor from him twice this term, but he could follow the above pair home if bouncing back.
