SOLWARA ONE (1.40 Exeter, 2pts win 15/8)
SOLWARA ONE left a lasting impression with a runaway victory on hurdle debut at Doncaster last month. That form rates highly (in the 130s on my figures) and given he was still very green at the finish, he is open to significant improvement.
He cleared away at the finish once asked for his effort after the final flight in the style of a potentially useful horse so gets a confident vote to come out on top here.

UHTRED (2.00 Punchestown, 1pt win 9/2)
It may pay to take a chance on UHTRED who has been off the track for 427 days but looked a very promising recruit when last seen in December 2019. Although up against some race-fit rivals today, he receives 6-7lbs from 136- and 137-rated horses.
The two at the top of the market have not bettered those official ratings time figures I have but the selection did when chasing home Front View (136) at Cork in November 2019. He is likely to have been extensively schooled over hurdles and has likely improved so is the one to side with at the prices.

SHELDON (2.10 Exeter, 1pt win 13/2)
This is a hot race for the grade but SHELDON wasn’t seen to best effect at Fakenham and was better than the bare result after failing to handle the sharp track before getting his head in front on the short run in.
He is much better than he was able to show there and the form of his Chepstow race has worked out so well that he must be on the shortlist even though it is very frustrating that he is likely to blow his handicap mark here.
The likes of Astigar and Karl Philippe are feared in a hot race but there should be plenty more to come from the Seamus Mullins runner.

WILDE ABOUT OSCAR (3.10 Exeter, 1pt win 7/2)
I can’t quite believe the difference in price between WILDE ABOUT OSCAR and The Glancing Queen given the selection went off a shorter price for the Challow Hurdle and has valid excuses for that pulled-up effort.
His run before at Aintree on the clock marked him down as a potentially very useful prospect with a time similar to that of Summerville Boy on the same card despite being eased down at the finish.
He is one to keep on side and, even giving 7lb to The Glancing Queen, he only has 2lbs of improvement to find and he is entitled to improve.

SOUTHFIELD HARVEST was unfortunate not to get off the mark at the first attempt on handicap debut when touched off at Wincanton and a 5lb rise makes things difficult but he has been crying out for this step back up to 3m.
He is one of the least exposed in the field and looks a straightforward type with an excellent attitude and this stiff testing track is just what he wants. A handicap mark of 135 shouldn’t prove beyond him on his bumper and Novice form so gets the vote.
