WHATDEAWANT – (2.10 Naas, 1pt win – 11/4)
This is a cracking race with some nice prospects on show, but the value lies with Willie Mullins’ WHATDEAWANT, who comfortably saw off Ginto on debut in a bumper last January under similar conditions and his time figure on the same Navan card on hurdle debut matched up well with Ginto’s win.
The selection was much faster from three out to the finish despite looking out-paced mid-race, and he overcame a mistake at the second last to win going away. He looks as though he needs deep ground over this trip and today has ideal conditions. He is entitled to improve for his first start over hurdles and fitness on the back of that promising seasonal return run, so he gets the vote here.
Ginto is a promising horse, I am not a fan of his action, though, and he did jump out to the right last time. Although his form was given a boost by the runner-up, that one’s win came over 3m on deep ground, so it’s unwise to take that literally. Hollow Games is a lovely horse and is feared the most.

HITITI – (3.30 Plumpton, 2pt win – 5/1) (NAP)
I almost came down on Storm Dennis for this after his second to a useful one at Wincanton. Still, HITITI is undoubtedly better than this opening handicap mark of 95 on the back of a Chepstow second in which his jockey was keen not to get too close to the rapidly improving subsequent winner.
He was a big eye-catcher on that occasions, and it’s interesting that connections re-apply the tongue-tie that he wore when winning his bumper in France for this handicap debut. This mark on the balance looks very low, and he is potentially too well-handicapped to ignore. I hope to see him ridden prominently because he likely stays further. However, the return to soft ground should be in his favour.

SHE’SASUPERMACK – (3.40 Ayr, 1pt win – 3/1)
SHE’SASUPERMACK was in the process of running a career-best over course and distance in November before falling two-out. She looked the likely winner over today’s favourite Clan Legend, so it’s a surprise to see that one ahead of her in the market. She is unexposed at today’s three-mile trip over fences, having had just three runs, including a good win at Aintree off a big weight in Class 4 company.
The soft ground will hold no fears, and she is on a favourable mark which is more than can be said about most. Rath An Iuir is feared should he be fit from 399 days off the track, but the selection can make amends for her mishap here 47 days ago.
