A chance is taken on SIGLO SIX who was outstayed on Monday at Kempton in a 0-85 over 1m3f but set a good early gallop to suggest that a drop back in trip would suit him well. He hasn’t been with his new stable long and that was his best effort on the all-weather since finishing a very close eighth here at Wolverhampton behind Sermon (79) in a good Class 4 event off a handicap mark of 76.
He now sits on a handicap mark of 72 is back to 1m and drops into a Class 5 for the first time and he could be ready to strike at the fourth time of asking for his new handler.

Pencilfulloflead is the class act in this field judged on his three improved chase races this term and it’s likely that a drop back in trip at Limerick was against him, but saddling an 8lb penalty will not be easy and stablemate ESCARIA TEN will prove more than a match.
The seven-year-old showed up well for a long way on seasonal return and chase debut at Fairyhouse behind Monkfish but faded in the closing stages and shaped as though he would improve for the run. That race has worked out well with the third and fourth confirming the form at Gowran Park next time and the selection bolted-up at Thurles by 20l. That performance is backed up by the clock so he is a valid alternative to the short-priced favourite.
